Due to heightened regulation as part of Bank Open API adoption under the amended Banking Act of Japan, after discussions with Rakuten Bank were indeterminate, we will be suspending connectivity as of June 1st, 2020.

To all Rakuten Bank customers using Moneytree, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. We will continue to work diligently to reach an agreement with Rakuten Bank for use of their API.

From June 1st, your Rakuten Bank data will no longer update within Moneytree, however you can check your Rakuten Bank balance and transaction information using the channels provided by Rakuten Bank. Any Rakuten Bank data added to Moneytree before May 31st will remain as is in Moneytree.

For customers who are using accounting software with Moneytree

Some accounting software providers allow you to upload transactions as a CSV file downloaded from the system provided by Rakuten Bank. Please contact your accounting software provider for details.

Unfortunately we currently do not have concrete plans to reconnect. However we will continue to work diligently to reach an agreement with Rakuten Bank for use of their API.


Q3: Will connection to other Rakuten services be available?

Yes, you can continue access to Rakuten Card, Rakuten Securities, Rakuten Edy and Rakuten Super Points using Moneytree.
