General
Q. What is the “Insights” tab?
A. We redesigned the “Insights” tab in fall 2026 so you can understand your financial situation at a glance. It’s now a dashboard with cards and graphs organized by topic, such as spending and assets. Tap any card to open a detail screen with more information.
Q. Where can I find it?
A. Tap the “Insights” tab in the menu at the bottom of the app.
Q. Is it free to use?
A. Free users can view data from the past 12 months (Grow plan users can view their entire history). Information about “Spending,” “Assets,” and “Retirement” is available to all users for free. “Monthly Report,” “Utilities,” and “Subscriptions” are available to guests on the Grow plan (free plan users can try them with sample data).
Q. Can I change the time period for time-series data?
A. The time period for time-series data in each section of the top page can’t be changed, but on each detail screen you can switch between “Week / Month / Year.” You can also use the left and right arrows to move to the previous or next period. The percentage increase or decrease compared to the previous period is also shown.
Spending
Q. What can I see in the “Spending” section of the top page?
A. You can see the following information about how you spend your money:
This month’s spending: Shows spending for the period as a bar graph.
Top spending category: Shows the category you spent the most on and its share of your total spending.
Largest expense: Shows your biggest purchase in the period and its share of your spending.
Unusual activity: A “Take a look” message appears only when a transaction that differs from your usual activity is found.
Tap any card to go to its detail screen.
Q. What can I see on the “Spending” detail screen?
A. You can see the following:
Transactions: Your 4 most recent transactions (merchant, date, amount). If there are 5 or more, tap “See all transactions” to open the full list.
Payment methods: The share of total spending by payment method, such as bank accounts and credit cards.
Daily average: Your average daily spending and the change from the previous period.
Q. What does the graph on the “Top Categories” detail screen show?
A. It shows your top 3 spending categories, plus everything else grouped as “Other,” in a donut chart. The total amount for the top 3 categories is displayed in the center. Tap a category on the chart or in the list below to see its share of your total spending.
Q. What can I see on the “Largest Expenses” detail screen?
A. You can see a list of your largest expenses in the period.
Assets
Q. What can I see in the “Assets” section of the top page?
A. You can see the following:
Net worth: Shows your assets minus your liabilities, and whether it has increased or decreased compared to the previous period.
Investments: Shows how much the value of your investments has changed since the last update, as an amount and a percentage (e.g., “Your investments have increased by 4.2% since September 12”).
Cash flow: Shows the difference between money coming in and money going out (e.g., “You had a surplus of ¥120,000 this year”).
Tap any card to go to its detail screen.
Q. What can I see on the “Net Worth” detail screen?
A. You can see how your net worth has changed over time in a line graph. Tap or scroll over a point on the graph to see the amount on that day. At the bottom of the screen is a list of your assets and liabilities, where you can see the subtotal for each and the amount at each financial institution.
Q. Can I see trends for each financial institution?
A. Yes. Tap a financial institution on the Net Worth detail screen to open a screen for that institution only. You can see a graph of its balance over time, a comparison with the previous period, and a list of transactions for that account.
Q. What date is used for comparison on the “Investments” detail screen (Portfolio)?
A. It’s the date your investment values were last successfully updated. Because this isn’t a fixed period like last week or last month, the date may be quite a while ago.
Q. What can I see on the “Investments” detail screen (Portfolio)?
A. It shows the current total value of your portfolio and the change since the last update. The donut chart is divided by financial institution, such as brokerages, showing the top 3 institutions individually and the rest grouped as “Other.” You can also see the holdings at each institution.
Q. Why can’t I switch between “Week / Month / Year” on the “Investments (Portfolio)” detail screen?
A. The “Investments (Portfolio)” detail screen shows your “current status,” so there is no option to switch between week, month, and year. Changes are compared against the date your investment values were last successfully updated.
Q. What can I see on the “Cash Flow (Income and Expenses)” detail screen?
A. A bar graph showing income and expenses over time lets you compare money coming in and going out. Tap a bar to see the income and expense amounts for that time. At the bottom of the screen, you can see a breakdown of income and expenses by category, sorted from highest to lowest. Tap a category to open a list of its transactions.
Retirement
Q. What can I see in the “Retirement” section of the top page?
A. You can check whether you’re on track to build the savings you’ll need for retirement. Grow plan users can set the following items to run a simulation tailored to them. Free users can try it out and see results based on sample settings.
Target retirement age
Expected monthly spending after retirement
Monthly savings amount
If you have any questions, please contact Support.
Q. What can I see on the “Retirement” detail screen?
A. You can see a 5-level rating (A+, A, B, C, F) of whether you’re on track to build your retirement savings, along with a graph projecting your outlook by age.
Q. The “Retirement” section of the top page shows “Are you on track for retirement?”
A. This appears if you haven’t yet set up your retirement readiness simulation. (Note: Setting the simulation items and the projection graph by age are Grow plan–only features.)
