Continued Use of Moneytree After the SMBC Card/SMBC Banking App Household Budget Feature Ends

SMBC has announced that the household budgeting features currently available in the SMBC Card Vpass app and the SMBC Banking app will be phased out starting March 1, 2025. Once the apps are updated, the existing asset‑management screens will no longer be accessible.

However, your linked accounts, card information and past transaction history will remain available. By installing the Moneytree personal finance app provided by Moneytree, Inc. and logging in with the same e‑mail address (Moneytree ID) you used in the Vpass or SMBC Banking app, you can keep using your existing data and account connections without interruption.

How to keep using Moneytree

  1. Download the “Moneytree” app to your smartphone.

  2. Launch the app and sign in with the same e‑mail address and password you’ve been using.

  3. Check that your previously linked financial institutions and past data have been imported automatically.

A. No. If you download the Moneytree app and sign in with the same e‑mail address, all of your data will carry over.

A. No. Your registered financial institutions will be carried over as they are, and data will continue to update automatically.

Q. Is there a fee?

A. The basic service is free. A premium version, “Moneytree Grow”, is available as an option for those who want more advanced features.
