Moneytree allows you to add more details to your spendings and categorize your transactions. There are more than 20 parent categories, you can always add a new child-category if you need to. *Please note that parent categories cannot be changed.

iOS

1.To assign a category to a transaction or change it, tap Category.

2.You can search for a category or scroll through them. You can also choose from the Frequent or Favourite categories section.

3.It is possible to add and remove categories from the Favourites section of the category selection view.

Simply swipe to the Favourites section, tap and hold any category and the selector will go into edit mode (start jiggling). You can now add and remove categories from favourites. Tap “Done” to save your changes.

4.If you want to add a new child-category, tap the “+” icon in the top right corner.

5.Add a “Category Name”, and then add an icon to your category by tapping “+”, you will then need to assign this child category to a parent category.

6.Tap “Create Category” to save changes.

7.Now you have a new child-category under its parent category called Education. Tap the “i” icon to edit or delete it.

Android

1.To assign a category to a transaction or change it, tap Category.

2.You can search for a category or scroll through them. You can also choose from the Frequent Used Categories.

3.If you want to add a new sub-category, tap the “+” icon in the lower right corner.

4.Add a “Category Name”, and then add an icon to your category by tapping “+”, you will then need to assign this child category to a parent category.

5.Tap “Create Category” to save changes.

6.Now you have a new child-category under its parent category called Education. Tap the “i” icon to edit or delete it.
